The "Spam Laws" section of SpamLaws.com was created by David E. Sorkin, a Law Professor at the Center for Information Technology and Privacy Law, at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.

Professor Sorkin has written and lectured extensively about issues surrounding Internet policy, privacy and consumer protection. In 1997, he was invited by the Federal Trade Commission to participate in a workshop designed to address the increasingly troublesome problem of unsolicited email, or spam, and has since become an authority on the subject.
