Verizon Is In Trouble!
Posted on Tue Mar 02, 2010Verizon is in Trouble!
A lawsuit filed against Verizon is requesting that the company stop giving records to NSA without permission from the costumer. The law suit aims to fine Verizon for violation of the Telecommunications Act. According the the law passed in 1934, telephone companies cannot share information regarding the costumers telephone use. "This is the largest intrusion into civil liberties ever seen in the United States," says Afran, a professor at Rutgers University. "Americans expect their phone records to be private. That's our bedrock governing principle of our phone system." Verizon claims that the NSA program is classified, and further information cannot be revealed. The company also declined commenting on the upcoming lawsuit.
