The Canada Revenue Agency is urging consumers to delete any
e-mails allegedly from the CRA. On the first of November, the CRA issued an alert about scam e-mails being sent to consumers by spammers. CRA warned consumers not to click any links in the e-mails, because some of the links led to sites that contained harmful software .
Different variations of the CRA e-mail scam are being sent out. So, consumers may receive a email either: promising a tax refund, lottery money, and so on. Regardless, of the variation of the scam, CRA request consumers to delete it. The CRA also mentions that correspondence with taxpayers are conducted through letter mail, not email.
