Conman Jailed for Exploiting the Elderly - 11/05/2007

Conman and former cold caller Tudor Davies, cheated thousand of dollars from people between the ages 60 and 80 across the Valleys of South Wales. Davies received a sentence of four-and-a-half years on November the 3rd. Davies scammed and exploited the elderly by either collecting desposits for home renovations that he never delievered or by promising high returns if they invested part of their savings. Davies also told most of his victims that he was a Christian and shared details of his private life to gain their trust.

An 84-year-old victim expressed his anger at Davies by telling investigators he wanted to "burst with anger." Similarly, Judge Patrick Curran QC said Davies "systematically targeted" and scammed the elderly.

Davies confessed to 22 charges of fraud.
