Is installing a personal firewall a good recommendation to avoid getting spyware on my computer? I was talking to a computer technician recently who told me that was a great idea. [br]

By all means put a firewall on your computer. A firewall can do more than what you think it can. A firewall can protect your PC from spyware, adware, and even viruses. A firewall can also protect your computer from hackers as well. [br][br]You can install a software firewall, which is the most recommended, or if you are a business, a hardware firewall may be good. The type of firewall you install will depend on your business and how big it is. If you are concerned about your home computers, a software firewall would be the ultimate choice for you. Norton Firewall or Norton Internet protection would be two good programs to look at since they do offer firewall protection. [br][br]
