Other than the typical method, not too many people know any other way, unless they are programmers and know the short cuts. However, there is an unusual method that one person used to get rid of spam without using an anti-spam program. [br][br]The method used was not to go into Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. This is the most common way. What this one user did was go into Windows Explorer and look at his directory structure. If he saw a directory that had a program he didn't recognize, he deleted the entire folder. Then to make sure he did not get any errors, he loaded the Registry and typed in the name of the program that was located in the folder, before the folder was deleted. He would locate every mention of the program in the Registry and remove the key that corresponded to it. After he did this and closed the program, he rebooted the PC. The rest, as they say, was history. He had no more spam after that. [br][br] |

A person’s identity can be 'borrowed' for the purpose of creating fictional credit cards or a person’s entire identity can be usurped to the point where they can have difficulty proving that they really are who they claim to be.
Up to 18% of identity theft victims take as long as four years to realize that their identity has been stolen.
There are many ways to protect your personal identity and many steps you can take to prevent your identity from being stolen:
*Never give out unnecessary personal information
*Never provide bank details or social security numbers over the Internet
*Always remain aware of who is standing behind you when you type in your personal credit codes at ATM machines and at supermarket checkout swipe machines.
