There are actually many ways to fight scams, but one good way is to learn about the scam so you can avoid it. You should go to the FBI and/or the FTC's website to learn about the newest scams. This way you can stay on top of them. [br][br]One good way other than going to the above websites, is to ignore many things you read in newspaper ads, see in magazines, see on [br]TV, or view on the Internet, especially if it sounds too good to be true. A person’s identity can be 'borrowed' for the purpose of creating fictional credit cards or a person’s entire identity can be usurped to the point where they can have difficulty proving that they really are who they claim to be.
Up to 18% of identity theft victims take as long as four years to realize that their identity has been stolen.
