I had a good friend of mine go to a car rental company recently to rent an economy car for an out of town trip one day. When he got to the car company, they did not have the car he reserved, so they suggested he upgrade to another model. He did and they charged him $30 more dollars per day for that upgrade. Is that legit or is that considered a scam? [br]

It is unfortunate that car rental companies try to do whatever they can to rip off consumers, and the problem is consumers aren't even aware of it. One such scam is when the customer reserves one type of car and when that person goes to pick up the rental car, that car is not available (car rental companies will rent out a reserved car to someone else on
purpose just to get the user, who reserved that car, to pay more). So what the rental car company does is try to force the person to go with a larger or more expensive rental, then claims the user has to pay the difference. This is a scam.[br][br]In reality, when you book a car for a certain price, you are obligated to receive that car when you go pick it up. If the car is not there for some reason, and the car rental company does offer an upgrade, either refuse it, or demand the upgrade for free.

Many Internet users are unaware that most anti-virus programs quickly become out of date as new and more sophisticated viruses enter the world of cyber-space everyday.

Anti-virus software must be consistently updated in order to remain effective. In some cases it is necessary to buy an entirely new program to help keep your computer virus free.

Most anti-virus programs allow you to update the original program by downloading the newest and most recent updates to their virus protection system. These updates can then provide protection for your computer against new strands of viruses waiting to infect your computer.
