I heard something about a telemarketing fraud scheme going around. What exactly is the telemarketing scheme? [br]

If you get a call from someone you do not know, who is trying to sell something that is neither in existence or they convince you to provide them with your personal financial information over a product that may not even exist, you have just become a victim of a telemarketing scheme.[br][br]You will know if it is a telemarketing scheme or fraud by simply paying attention to the warning signs. In many cases they will try and rush you into making a decision. If you request to research the company, they will state you don't have to, and they will do their best to persuade you to listen to them. They will give you the "act now for the offer won't last now" routine. [br][br]Another telemarketing fraud scheme is when they call to tell you about a free gift, vacation, or prize you have won. The only condition is you have to pay postage and handling, plus some other charges to get the award. They may even mention that they have sent a courier to your location to pick up your check for the amount required. They will tell you that you can have the courier stopped immediately if you give thme your credit card over the phone. [br][br]The best advice in this situation is to just don't say anything and hang up the phone. [br]
