I set up my backup last night for our network and when I came in today, I saw an error message on the screen that the backup system failed to initialize. What happened, and does this mean my backup never occurred? [br]

It sounds like your hardware failed. If you are using a tape drive system, your tape could have been full, so no new content could be copied to it.Or a tape you used was defective and wouldn't turn in the drive mechanism. Another possible cause is the drive mechanism itself could have failed to start the tape process. [br][br]Without knowing the actual conditions at the time of failure would be hard to pinpoint the exact cause. But the above are the most likely causes. If, however, you are using another backup device, you will need to examine the device to see if there was a hardware failure or not. [br][br]As far as the backup occurring. Obviously if the backup never initialized there was no backup. At this point, you will have to resolve your hardware problem and then either restart the program, or you will just wait till the next schedule backup takes effect. [br][br]
