A computer worm is a virus that resides in memory. The intended purpose is for duplication. Once they duplicate, they start spreading to other computers by means of email, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), or other means.[br][br]Typically, a worm is not as dangerous as a full-fledge virus, but can still be annoying and can flood the computer with unwanted programs and present problems for other users, especially when you are sending email or using Internet Chat.
