First of all storm worm is not the same as w32/storm.worm as some people have thought. Instead it is referred to as a backdoor Trojan horse that can affect any computer using Windows operating system. The worm was discovered on January 17, 2007. It spread from one computer to another using an email address that had as the subject line, "230 dead as storm batters Europe". Based on Symantec and Microsoft, this Trojan horse does not pose a serious risk to PCs. It mainly attacks emails and floods the Internet with repeated attacks. This creates a denial-of-service to www.microsoft.com and the website ends up shutting down temporary. [br]
