Are there tools I could use on my PC to prevent adware or eliminate what I already may have? [br]

Yes, there are tools you can use to get rid of or prevent adware. Such tools include Hijackthis, Adaware, and Spybot for great in helping catch adware and prevent it from installing in your PC. You should also invest in RegistryProt, considering this program will monitor the Registry and prevent any unauthorized writing to it. You will have to give permission for a program to get installed and its code written to the Registry.
