Whether you know it or not, adware can download from a pop-up. Many people have faced this experience at one time or another with horrible experiences. Pop-ups not only carry adware, but also viruses as well. [br][br]The best way to prevent a pop-up to occur is to use the disable pop-up function in your browser, Every browser is made with one. Just enable it and you will find most pop-ups will not occur. If the pop-up in your browser does not stop all pop-ups, you can download Yahoo or Google toolbar, since they also have pop-up blockers on them. You can also use a third-party pop-up blocker like Guard-IE. Guard-IE is created by Failsafe Technologies (www.guardwall.com), and does a really good job of not just blocking Internet pop-ups, but also have other functions to help give you the privacy you want. [br][br]The only bad side to pop-up blockers is that there are legitimate websites that have pop-ups with vital information you may need to know. In order to allow the pop-ups to occur from these sites, you need to allow them to occur when configuring your pop-up blocker. [br][br] |
